Justin Timberlake

Justin Timberlake was born January 31, 1981 in Memphis, Tennessee. From a very early age, Timberlake pursued a singing career. At age 11, he made his television debut on the show "Star Search" in 1983, and although he did not win, he did not give up. In 1989 he auditioned and received a spot on the Mickey Mouse Club, where he worked with costars such as Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera and future band-mate J.C. Chasez.

Justin received greater fame when at age 14, he and four other band-mates formed the boy band `N Sync. Timberlake really came into the spotlight as the leader of the band. His unique voice, hip-hop dance moves, and obvious sex appeal won over his pop teen audience and turned him into a superstar. `N Sync won four Grammy Awards, and produced hit singles such as “Bye, Bye, Bye” and “Celebrity.” Although the group had much success, the band went their separate ways in 2002. That did not stop Timberlake, however, for he was in the midst of working on his solo debut album, Justified (2002), which sold more than seven million copies worldwide and included hits such as “Cry Me a River” and “Rock your Body.” Even without his fellow band members, Justin seemed to be well on his way to a very successful solo career.

Timerblake's fame expanded when he began collaborating with other popular artists such as the Black-Eyed Peas, Nelly Furtado, and Snoop Dog, to produce such hits as “Where is the Love?”, “Work it,” and “Signs.” He also made a name for himself in cinema when he began his acting career in films such as Alpha Dog (2006), Black Snake Moan (2006), and Shrek the Third (2007). Acting did not keep him from singing however; Justin was still working on his second solo album FutureSex/LoveShow which was released in 2006. FutureSex/LoveShow is Timberlake's greatest success yet, containing #1 hit singles such as “SexyBack,” “My Love,” and “What Goes Around.../...Comes Around.”

With his first two solo albums alone, Timberlake sold over 13 million albums worldwide. There is a lot more to expect from this young, talented artist who has achieved so much already. Along with being a triple threat, he has also been given Sexiest Man titles by Teen People and Cosmopolitan magazines. Timberlake does not seem to be slowing down anytime soon. Between touring around the world, producing hit albums, and pursuing his acting career, Justin Timberlake is a true icon.
